THOUGHTS ON PAINTING

This piece makes no apologies for the form of a woman, showing the realistic instead of the idealistic appearance of a woman in motion. In the Bather Painting, the subject is sitting down on the bed of a body of water. Reaching for the water, she looks over her shoulder toward the viewer. Her eyes are closed mid-smile and she seems content where she is. Surrounding her are earthy blues, browns, and greens, and because she is nude while out in nature, these colors seem to suggest that the unapologetic female form is just as natural as anything else Mother Nature has created.

GETTING TO KNOW ANIMESH ROY

Animesh Roy's painting style is a vibrant fusion of impressionism and realism, characterized by his adept use of color and light to capture the ephemeral beauty of natural landscapes and still life compositions. Born in 1968 in Krishnagar, Bengal, a region renowned for its artistic heritage, Roy's early exposure to diverse cultures and environments—owing to his parents' transferable jobs—instilled in him a profound appreciation for the world's varied aesthetics.

Painters are known for using different colors, textures and styles to bring history to life thereby expanding one's imagination of past events. A painting of Mary holding baby Jesus for example, helps persons of this age to visualize Mary's humility and the swaddling cloth that was described in Luke 2:12. The painting of the crucifixion of Jesus is another popular piece of art within the Christian culture. Painters use realistic colors to demonstrate Jesus's agony, suffering and humility thereby bringing us back in time by more than two thousand years through the use of a single painting....read more
