THOUGHTS ON PAINTING
A small bunch of trees glides over the crest of a short hill in the Hill 04 Painting. The trunks of the tall, slender trees found in this painting have been given a few extra layers of paint, perhaps in order to give them as much texture as one might find on the bark of a real tree. Short brushstrokes compose the leaves of the trees, those of which are not only bright, healthy green, but are orange, yellow and red as well, suggesting that the time period for this painting is the beginning of autumn.
