THOUGHTS ON PAINTING
When the summer season has leant its way to the chilly mornings of fall, green is still in the trees and the sky still remains that summer shade of blue--yet change is afoot. This change has been clearly evidenced in the August Painting. In this painting, a group of trees grow upon a small island. The trees still cling to their green leaves, but in the center of these trees, red, yellow and orange have begun to make the transition to the new season. These colors are reflected in the water below the group of trees.
