THOUGHTS ON PAINTING

Kiev’s oldest historical district, Podol, is a wondrous sight in and of itself. Surrounded by awe- inspiring monumental buildings, each telling a different story and together creating an ensemble that of great pride, not only for Podol, but for Kiev as a whole. The artist used a simple oil on canvas to represent a unique, fragile, and ever beautiful contrast between the slow and steady buildings opposing the force of human progress on the street. The old street lamps are already lit, but the sky remains dominantly explosive, with all its radiant colors beautifully blending to create a perfect balance.
