THOUGHTS ON PAINTING
The rare beauty of something as simple and ubiquitous as a sunset is gracefully depicted in this piece. The colours play with each other on the buildings, all with a high sunset glow. A house is set haplessly atop a hill, with power lines placing it discreetly in our time and century. Using nothing but simple square shapes and straight lines, there is somehow still a traditional adherence to the mediterranean vibe in this piece. This place we are seeing, however unfamiliar at first, is not yet sleeping, but nighttime is about to set in and people are still active. The place is bustling with life and this is the familiarity we find in it.
