THOUGHTS ON PAINTING
Cesky Krumlov is one of the most picturesque Bohemian towns in Europe. It may resemble a miniature of Prague somewhat, but has a character all it’s own, a pearl of stunning Renaissance and Baroque architecture. The town reaches to the skies above a bend on the River Vltava and is a place where the sumptuousness of the local castle, maze-like alleyways, richly decorated coats of arms of burghers houses, and wonderful floral gardens are harmoniously interwoven. In this piece, the monumental buildings, churches and houses are presented in very bright colors, with dominant reds. Although only the rooftops are visible, it gives a glimpse of what the whole landscape could look like - mosaic-like and sensual.
