The Importance of paintings in our society

Introduction

Be they modern painting as “Fire Pond” by Kachina Anastasia, or “Baobab” by Vica Morvay, man’s love for painting can be said to be as old as the history of man itself. Right from the use of cave paintings; studied by scientist to detect how the early men planned activities such as hunting, up to the interior decoration, paintings have always been useful to man. In addition, the discovery of hundreds of paintings in Europe, Africa and Australia shows clearly that the love for painting isn’t a recent creation. Man has used paintings for many reasons such as decoration or even to express one’s sensuality (as in the case of Nude Paintings); however the overall purpose of art paintings has been to convey a message.

Why You Should Buy a Painting

Why buy paintings anyway? The answers to this question attest to the significance of painting in our modern society. Whether it is for home decor or an investment, paintings do prove to deliver desired results. As a sure investment, the value of a painting does appreciate as the reputation of the artist grows, this will attract more money as time goes, a perfect investment one might say. Another good thing with this investment is that it doesn’t require regular replacement or maintenance. On the other hand, a home décor painting can generate wonderful feelings of joy, happiness, remembrance, nostalgia and calm whenever you look at it on your wall. To crown it all, these home decorations don’t go out of fashion; they continue generation after generation as they enrich the lives of connoisseurs.

There are different styles and themes in Artistic Paintings. The material used can be either oil on canvas or cardboard or acrylic on canvas of varying sizes. The most notable styles include Impressionism, Decorative, Expressionism, Realism, Abstract Art, Surrealism, Cubist and Semi Abstract -- there are hundred of paintings under each of the mentioned styles that might not be mentioned in this article. However few examples of painting themes include Abstract Paintings; which is to communicate feelings and emotions, without necessarily being focused on a real object. Its advantage is the inclusion of most concepts of art such as color, shape, composition and texture thus making it an appropriate medium to convey a message plainly. A modern example would be “Out of The Blue” by Sheri.

There is also a figurative theme; this is commonly referred to as representational painting, this is mostly inclined but not limited to people. A recent example of figurative theme would be “The Fear of Life” by Zhana Viel. Nude, Landscape Paintings, Floral Paintings, Decorative and Still-Life art paintings are the other most popular themes. Research is important before you purchase an original painting.
