THOUGHTS ON PAINTING
The Elk, in the Native American belief system, symbolizes a number of prestigious values that turn a person into a force to be reckoned with, just as the proud elk stands in the Elk painting, unfettered in his natural environment. The elk conveys the message of the utmost strength, relentless stamina and survival; it gives off a sense of nobility and pride, standing tall and unbothered, no matter what life throws at the animal. The elk looks up into the sky as he, himself, stands tall and rather defiantly, ready to face the odds of any of the challenges that life may throw his way.
