THOUGHTS ON PAINTING
A snowy owl perches happily upon a branch so covered in the snow of his namesake that the viewer can hardly see it in the Twilight painting. Twilight is a time that the sun crosses the final threshold of the horizon and dips down over it for the night so that the moon can take its place. Often symbolic of old age and wisdom, the sunset is much like the knowledgeable and wise owl. The owl in this painting is sitting against a white and serene blue background, seeming to convey the tranquility and peace that comes with wisdom.
