List of original paintings signed by artist Donald Maier

Donald Maier is an artist who has been painting for most of his life. He began studying at the Newark School of Fine and Industrial Arts in Newark, New Jersey, in the year 1968. He won a number of awards for his work while there, including several first place prizes. From there, he went on to show his work in a variety of solo and group exhibitions all the same. He was inspired primarily by artist Winslow Holmes and began painting water colors at a young age. Since then, his style has morphed and changed into what it is today.

Donald Maier paints nature in much of his paintings. The nature that he spends time painting stems from the places that he has gone, including the deserts, beaches and plains. A lot of his work also centers around the animals he encounters while he is painting or those he wishes he could. Animals that are included in his work are lions, rabbits, buffalo and pelicans. The colors that this artist uses range far and wide depending on the subject of the paintings. He seems to stay true to the colors of whatever he is painting in order to add naturalism and realism to his works, not creating any sort of fantastical depictions at all. He occasionally will paint city skylines and sunsets, however, and those are naturally more colorful and vivid. Otherwise, Donald Maier paints in greens, browns, blues and reds, capturing the essence of the nature around him.
